In-Person & Teletherapy Appointments
We are offer both in-person sessions and teletherapy for all of our new and existing clients.
Each of us are licensed in New York State and can provide teletherapy to anyone physically residing in New York State!
Making an Appointment
If you are interested in making an appointment, please email or call us.
If you have a specific therapist in mind–please let us know during your call or email message.
We offer free 15 minute phone consultations for you to be able to ask about our practice, what our specialities are, and to see if you feel we would be a good fit to meet your needs.
Insurance & Fees
Our fees per session are between $180 and $220. Our fees are based on therapist licensure and experience. Individual fees are set by the therapist after an initial consultation has been completed.
Fees for ART sessions may be different than for individual therapy sessions.
At this time, our practice does not accept commercial or state insurance. We are able to process payments through HSAs and provide invoices to submit for reimbursement through out-of-network benefits.
In an effort to keep quality therapy accessible and affordable, each therapist has a reserved number of sliding scale slots available. If you are in need of sliding scale fees, please contact us to inquire further.

Insurance FAQs
We intentionally do not participate with insurance. By remaining as an out-of-network provider, treatment is guided by you and your therapist. When participating with insurance companies, your therapist is required to diagnose you (ie: assure your insurance that there is “something wrong” with you), and provide regular reports about why you are still “sick” and need care. Often times insurance will push to end treatment before folks feel that they are ready.
This is just not our vibe, and goes against everything we believe mental health care should look like. We firmly believe you are the expert in your life and you have the right to decide the care you receive.
Yes. While we are not on insurance panels, you can still obtain coverage through out-of-network benefits if that is part of your plan. We can also accept payments through HSA accounts.
Yes! We can process payments from your HSA the same way we process credit and debit card payments. If you plan on using your HSA, it is a good idea to give them a call ahead of time to see what kind of receipts or invoices they require.
The easiest way to find out coverage and benefits is to call your insurance directly and ask if you have out-of-network coverage for outpatient mental health services under the code 90834. Some insurances will have a deductible that needs to be met, others may have a limit on the number of visits they cover per calendar year. It is important to get ALL of the information regarding your coverage, deductibles, prior authorizations and reimbursement rates while you are talking with them.
Awesome! At the end of every month, you will receive a coded invoice from your therapist that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. The invoice must be coded. A credit card receipt showing payment will not be enough.
Some insurance companies may request that you apply for a single case agreement. This means that your insurance will recognize your therapist as an “in network” provider on a single case basis. We sometimes see this when you are looking for a specialized type of service, ie: eating disorder treatment, that is difficult to access elsewhere. This may require a little more paperwork (and foot work) but it is doable! Talk directly with your therapist but what they would need to do to help you get some coverage.
Each therapist at The Counseling Collective reserved a limited number of sliding scale spots in their practice. If you are in need of a sliding scale, please contact us directly and we can check availability for you.

Electronic communication, including email, is not a secure method of communication, and there is some risk that one’s confidentiality could be compromised with its use.
While we do our best to prevent this with encryption, firewall, and antivirus software on all of our devices–the remote risk remains.
If you are not comfortable with this, please feel free to call us at 914.440.0402 and leave a message on our confidential voicemail.
We cannot provide clinical advice or therapy during email or phone consultations. Those services are only available once a client/therapist relationship has been established.
